Name: Daniel Date: 6/4/07 Review: Blueridge Br-73 guitar Rating you give the Blueridge BR73: 4 - Highly recommend it
Like about the BR-73: Very nice full sound for such a small and comfortable body. This guitar has alot of sparkle in the notes and has plenty of wonderful overtones that give it a great beautiful tone. Great for soft strumming, rythm, and especially fingerstyle because of its great response. This is a great recording guitar because of the clear tone and good balance. Great thin neck/nut width for bluegrass or smaller hands.
Dislike about the BR73: The guitar has a wonderful fingerstyle sound, but the strings are so close that it can make the right hand picking slightly awkward. I prefer a slightly wider string spacing/nut width for fingerstyle.
Additional Comments: I've owned this guitar for a few years and it's sound has just improved. You can't find a match for the sound quality in the price-range. I brought this guitar into the GuitarCenter after I purchased it and played it against $3000 auditorium sized guitars with very pleasing results. This Blueridge totally took the cake in playability, brilliant sparkling highs, and balance and clearness of sound. There is a depth or tonal maturity that some of the more expensive guitars brought to the table though. They had more of a more mature, woody depth in tone because of the better solid Rosewood sides and back. The bass notes were fuller, but that can sometimes make recording harder/muddier (it depends on the recording methods). This blueridge records fantasticly strait through a well positioned mic. I would recommend that everyone try and compare any guitar they are thinking about purchasing side-by-side with the Blueridge equivalent before making their choice. Their necks are also incredibly comfortable and thin.
