Like about the DR Rainbow strings: Colorful and unique. These strings clearly differentiate the individual strings and are suitable for both learning as well as professional use. Classic Phosphor Bronze tone with excellent playbility. The different colored strings lend a unique appearance to any vintage Martin and blend in nicely with just about any tropical-style shirt. They are the Fruit Loops of guitar strings and a sure-fire attention getter.
Dislike about the DR Rainbow strings: A bit pricey for what they are but until D'Addario-Martin-NewTone and others come up with their own DR has the corner on this market.
Additional Comments: Dedicating a different-colored string during the course of a gig to the best-looking women in the audience works wonders and makes them pay more attention to your playing. Call it tonal foreplay. Instead of tossing flatpicks, I will sometime throw an individual colored string pack to the chick I am most interested in going home with. Works roughly 2-3 out of 10 times (about the same as a baseball batting average). Currently I am 'batting' .265 (about the same as a journeyman ballplayer). Better guitarists or those who look like George Clooney should do better and possibly score in the Ty Cobb/George Brett range when these players were at their peak powers. Enjoy those DR Rainbows & 'string' the chicks along!
