The D-Tar WaveLength pickup includes a mini jack that accepts the new VT module. No soldering required. WOW! The D-Tar WaveLength has a rich, robust and complex tone. Lows are fat and open. Midrange is warm and completely musical (no more scooping out the mids to save your tone). Highs are round and full - nothing plastic about it! And the best part - NO QUACK!

An easy-to-install alternative to the famous D-tar Timber-Line, the D-tar Wave-Length combines a thin, piezo transducer with an 18-volt, low-noise, high input impedance preamp. Wave-Length's unitary full length pickup accommodates virtually all 6-string spacings and is compatible with guitars using either 1/8" or 3/32" saddles, often with no modification to the saddle slot.  I had the chance to chat with Rick Turner at the NAMM show, and I installed this pickup in my OM-28V.

Like the Timber-Line pickup, Wave-Length's built-in preamp runs on 18-volts for twice the headroom and dynamic range of a typical 9-volt system. This means you can strum extra hard without experiencing dreaded piezo "quackiness." To derive the 18 volts, Wave-Length merely requires two standard "AA" batteries. The secret is our proprietary voltage power booster. The preamp has an input for a second source, like a magnetic pickup or a soundboard transducer.

Two adjustable trim pots, one low frequency shelving and one high frequency shelving, allow the installer to fine tune and "set and forget" the bass and treble frequencies to optimize the Wave-Length for any instrument's size and shape. The result is transparent amplification of the natural timbre of an acoustic guitar with minimal coloration.
