Like about the Martin 000-18: Nada. Zilch.
Dislike about the Martin 00018: I first tried one of these back in 1968. They were one of the lower-priced models back then. It was unimpressive with minimal volume and resonance, nothing compared to a current 000-28 or even an older 00-18. Came across another new one 40 or so years later and not much had changed. A very weak-sounding model. Additional Comments: Though this comment probably belongs in another section, I tried the more recent 000-18GE a couple of months ago and it was a major improvement. I suspect the scalloped bracings had something to do with it. The 000-18GE offered better harmonics, resonance and depth than the standard 000-18.

Like about the Martin 000-18: I love the sweet sound of Mahogany. The 11/16 nut feels just right. And has great volume for a small body guitar.
Dislike about the Martin 00018: I switched out the black pickguard for a 50's Greven and added ebony bridge pins to warm it up.
Additional Comments: The modern 000-18 to me is a very underated guitar. People should pick one up and give it a try.

Liked about the Martin 000-18: Short scale, and neck size allows my wife to play more easily than shes ever been able to. Nice sweet tone that stands up well to some old-time country and bluegrass.
Disliked about the Martin 000-18: Black plastic pickguard. Plastic pins and end pin.
