Likes: The sound, obviously, I love. It's clear but not too bright, which was the problem I found with the standard OM 21's I tried. The fretboard's low profile makes it very easy on my hands too compared with the v style necks, which make them ache after only a few minutes! Maybe the ebony fretboard and bridge contribute to that slightly smoky sound. Sounds great playing blues! I also love the old style open geared tuning pegs and the ebony bridge pins. After a few minor adjustments such as lowering the action slightly, it plays like a dream . I find phosphor bronze strings seem to work best. I use 10 to 47's, which are extra light but they sound fantastic! I've owned it now for about three months and I'm still completely smitten with it. It looks beautiful as well. I've had many compliments about it. Of all the Martins I've tried, I love it the best, and that's saying something. It's not as loud as a dreadnought or similar guitars, of course, but who cares? It's quite loud enough for a large room, and if I need the sound to carry more I'll just use a pick up. Honestly, honestly, love it!
Dislikes: Nothing
Additional Comments: Buy one if you've got the money!

Likes: I've had my OM 21 Special about 3 months now, and I have to say it's the favourite of all the guitars I've owned, other Martins included in their number. I love it! I play several styles, mainly blues and songwritery rock if that makes sense, and it works for all of them. If it was a pick up it'd be a humbucker, it's got a kind of smoky, deep woodiness to it, almost a snarl when really thrashed. The wide fretboard had worried me a little before purchase, in terms of its strummability, but it was fine. Obviously fingerpicking is a dream, and when strummed it's clear as a bell, but again with that slight rauch to it. I 've owned 14 guitars at last count. This is the one that I'll never let go of. Highly recommended...

Likes: This guitar is truly special! It has a perfect combination of vintage vibe and modern playability. The sound is warm, woody and crystal clear. I have played only a very few guitars, vintage or new that can stand alongside this one.
Dislikes: I could have used a bit less orange in the toner, but in the end it really doesn't matter.
Additional Comments: I would have given this a 5, but my other Martin - a figured Koa NAMM show special dreadnought even edges the OM 21 out a bit, but its list price was over $11,000 higher!
