Likes: The only reason I didn't rate this one as the best Martin I ever played is that I have a D-28CW that is truly jaw-dropping. I've had this OM28 Marquis long enough that it is beginning to open up, the string spacing and action are perfect, and it lets you effortlessly express things in your playing that you couldn't beat out of other guitars.
Dislikes: I wish that the curvature of the top bout was a little less abrupt,so sue me.
Additional Comments: Perfect size for playing on the lazy boy - so you'll practice longer.

Likes: This is a very powerful OM. It has great clarity and seriously throws the sound out at the listener. I was not impressed at first playing, but I kind of had a feeling this instrument would take a bit of playing to really gain it's voice. I have the opportunity to play a minimum of 5 hours a day. (I teach guitar classes for my school district.) Within a couple of months, I started to hear what the OM28 Marquis is all about. The Adirondack began to really blossom and the volume...well, let just say that my students have no problem hearing me model for them. I love this guitar.
Dislikes: Hmmm...none.
Additional Comments: If you love OM's, you should give this one a try. Be patient. You will be greatly rewarded.

Like about the Martin OM-28 Marquis: Beautiful, rich, tone. Ease of playing.
Additional Comments: Played this guitar along with about a dozen other including several Goodalls, This guitar held its own and was a close second to a a Used Goodall costing about a thousand dollars more.

Like about the Martin OM-28 Marquis: Amazing fingerpicking clarity when compared to a Sitka OM. I tried many, many OM's before finally deciding on this piece of heaven! I am mainly a fingerpicker, and I wasn't pleased with the sound of Sitka and Rosewood, so I thought I would give Adirondack and Rosewood a shot. This is without a doubt the best guitar I have ever played or owned in my entire life! It's beautiful, the note to note clarity is impeccable, the neck is a mellow version of a Vintage series V neck, and I cannot sing it's praises enough! If you are looking for an OM model that has piano like overtones and sustain, fingerpicking clarity beyond any Sitka topped guitar, simple but beautiful appointments, and a guitar you could never see yourself selling, this is for you.
Dislike about the Martin OM-28 Marquis: I think this may be true with any Adirondack topped guitar, but it takes a little longer to "open up" then Sitka topped guitars do. It's worth the wait though.
The tuners are terrible. I put waverly's on and i suggest the same for anyone else.
