Reverend Reeves Gabrels - Orange Flame Maple
Reverend Guitars and Railhammer Pickups have joined forces with guitarist extraordinaire Reeves Gabrels from The Cure. Loaded with the revolutionary Railhammer Chisel bridge and neck pickups, the Reverend Reeves Gabrels is a versatile solidbody that can cover everything from high-gain shred to avant garde rock to heavy blues. Unique features include: toggle-style switch that can be rotated to different angles, up-route underneath the tremolo for extra travel, and push-pull phase switch (in the tone control) to push the sonic boundaries. A traditional-meets-modern powerhouse!
REEVES GABRELS SIGNATURE BRIDGE PICKUP
A tonal dominitation collaboration. Based on Reverend's Alnico Grande platform, they've turned up the heat on the windings for more sustain, thicker tone and a slight "cocked wah pedal" effect. This one has a distinct tone that drives hard and cuts through the mix like a knife, even with heavy overdrive. Of course, Reeves demanded that it kills it clean as well, which it does because it's a Railhammer!
REEVES GABRELS SIGNATURE NECK PICKUP
A brother from the same pickup mother. Based on Reverend's Hyper Vintage neck model, but wound a wee bit hotter for warmer tone and more output. This one offers up a tasty tonal palette and is the perfect complement to the Reeves Gabrels model. Tweaked for the discerning ear of Reeves, now available for all to make it a part of their own mojo.
ROASTED MAPLE NECK
Roasted Maple is heat treated at over 300 degees fahrenheit to remove sugars, moisture and impurities. This maple is lighter, more stable and has a beautiful caramel color. The result is an exceptional maple neck that will require less seasonal adjustment, and boasts a rich vintage look!
Korina (aka White Limba) is a medium-light weight wood, highly prized for consistency and tonal qualities. Often found in boutique and vintage instruments, all Reverends feature Korina bodies. A highly resonant wood, Korina is a key factor to producing Reverend's lively, responsive instruments that are rich in harmonics.
This passive bass roll-off is great for tightening up the low end, or re-voicing the pickups. It can make a humbucker sound like a single-coil or give a P-90 that classic twang. Variable pickup voicing at your fingertips!
A thumbwheel under the tuner pushes a steel pin up through the post, locking the string in place for exceptional tuning stability and super-fast string changes.
Every Reverend is hand initialed on the back of the headstock by Zack Green, Reverend's highly skilled technician who sets up, inspects and tests every instrument.
WILKINSON WVS50 IIK TREMOLO
Features include saddles that lock to the baseplate, adjustable arm swing tension and a push-in / no freeplay arm. Combined with Reverend's boneite nut and pin-lock tuners, it stays in tune even under aggressive whammy action.
VARI-CLAW TREMOLO CLAW
This innovative claw gives you the option of 3 springs in the middle for a firm tremolo feel or 2 springs on the outside for a softer feel. The offset hook design lets you switch between 3 or 2 springs, with little or no cumbersome adjustment of the claw needed.
CUSTOM DOME KNOBS
Reverend's proprietary knobs feature a lower profile which is less likely to be accidentally hit by the players hand and the white dot lets you easily see where your knob rotation is set.
Reverend uses "Boneite", a synthetic bone nut that is more consistent than natural bone, on all of their instruments. Boneite reduces friction, allowing the strings to slide through the nut slots smoothly, improving tuning stability.
DUAL-ACTION TRUSS ROD
Reverend's dual action rod adjusts in both directions, allowing back bow or forward bow. This assures correct adjustment range is possible regardless of string tension, extreme climate conditions, or the effects of long term aging. It's also located at the headstock for easy acess.
SIX-BOLT NECK PLATE
Two extra bolts increase mounting pressure of the neck by fifty percent. This makes a stronger neck connection, which improves sustain, tuning stability and neck alignment.
ANGLED NECK HEEL
All Reverend solidbody guitars in the Bolt-On series feature a low profile, angled neck heel. This improves comfort and hand access when you're reaching for those high notes!
CUSTOM JACK PLATE
Reverend's proprietary jack plate features four mounting screws instead of two. The extra screws prevent the plate from tearing out of the body. Made of steel for durability, the laser etched logo adds an extra touch of class.
PURE TONE JACK
All Reverends use an upgraded jack by Pure Tone Technologies. A standard jack has single contacts, but the Pure Tone jack has dual contacts for improved grip, audio signal and reliability. The most dependable guitar jack available.
TREBLE BLEED CIRCUIT
All Reverend guitars have a treble bleed circuit, preserving the treble when you roll back the volume control. When you roll back a standard volume control, the tone loses treble and becomes dull sounding. Now you can turn down and still sound great.
Reverend uses Alpha control pots with a +-10% rating. While a typical pot is +-20%, Reverend's pots are built to tighter specifications, making them more consistent. Typically used in expensive boutique guitars, but standard issue in all Reverends.
10% POLY CAPS
Reverend uses caps with a +-10% rating, while a typical cap is +-20%. Reverend's caps are made to tighter specifications, so they're more consistent. Made of polyester, they're also longer lasting and less affected by temperature than cheaper ceramic caps. Typically used in expensive boutique guitars.
