Coming from the same forests as Martin's East Indian rosewood, siris is a lovely tonewood in its own right. With grain similar to walnut, Martins made with siris have a sound that is somewhere between rosewood and mahogany, being rounder and warmer than mahogany and with greater overtone content, while not sounding as warm or dark as rosewood.
