How to Restring your Guitar

Your new guitar is full of tone, but only when the strings are reasonably fresh & lively.  Dying or dead strings are robbing your guitar of volume, clarity & sustain!  Strings also become harder to tune when they're dirty and corroded.  When your strings sound dull & are lacking overtones & brightness, they need to be changed.  Don't wait until one breaks.

The chemistry in your skin, the relative humidity and how often you play will dictate how long your strings will last. Some players can make a set of strings last a few months. Others, a few weeks. Coated strings, like Martin Lifespan, D'addario EXP and Elixirs cost a little more, but last longer.  In the video below, our friend Dave Doll at Martin Guitar shows you how to properly restring your 6-string acoustic. Please contact us if you'd like more information or if you have any questions.  Thanks, Dave!
