The roots of the classic Martin tone are evident here, but the voice is much more airy and lively, compared to the robust, warm bassy tone often associated with Martin's scalloped-braced offerings. The 17s are snappy, light & bright - without sounding thin or nasal. The finish is deliberately lo-fi and they almost look like something out of a 1920's catalog.
